The fabrication of architectural scale models was borne from the inspiration of the skilled architects of the Italian Renaissance. Their presentation to a patron was based on the craftsmanship of models created from an extraordinary variety of wood species.
Laszlo Wagner, the principal of Luxbaum Windows + Doors, has developed the determination to re-create this skill. The opportunity arose when the company built its factory in Bali, where it produces windows and doors under the trade name of Luxbaum Windows + Doors. The factory is located in an area which for a long time has been primarily populated by carpenters. Their skills in carving and furniture making has been passed from generation to generation. The interview of Ida Bagus Danu revealed his education as an architect and his skill in building carved models.
With the installation of a complete woodworking shop, equipped with the finest European miniature machinery and custom made tools, we created a space where a tradition of mastery could continue. It is in this environment where the finest commitment of the craftsmen and the finest equipment merged to produce architectural scale models carved and fabricated out of exotic tropical woods. A Renaissance of the Renaissance.
