A Historical Inspiration
In 2003, we were privileged by an invitation to inspect a small collection of the models readied for an exhibition representing Buonarroti Michelangelo, Domenico Bernini, Baldassare Peruzzi, Giacomo della Porte and Antonio da Sangallo, during a visit to the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. The conviction was borne for the commitment to give renaissance to the art of the creation of wooden architectural scale models.
It was an opportunity to study, up close, the techniques and methods behind the creation of these models arriving from the collection held in the Vatican. With an admiration for the perfection of scale, proportion, & medium of this timeless art, we set out to give life again to this creative process. The commitment to create a shop fabricating wood models was borne.
